Interior Wall Remodeling in Naples
We can use an interesting technique that is referred to as “thick walls” or “library walls” to impart character to your living space.
Typically interior walls are four inches thick. These are quite adequate for most room division purposes, but they aren’t that exhilarating. If an opening is created through a wall to create more depth, you create the display of integrity and solidity. Thickness gives a wall a sense of stability, as when walls used to be made of stone.
The addition of a thick wall is a superb way of creating a new character to your home, without having to make changes to all of the rooms and spaces that it links together.
One common way to add thickness to an existing wall is to cover the surface with bookshelves. Bookshelves are visually stimulating, add a note of distinction to your home and can be extremely useful as a way to organize your interests and your hobbies. Books can be alternatively vertically and horizontally stacked for effect. This technique is the most effective when the shelves extend
all the way from wall to wall, or floor to ceiling.
Whether you build a one-story or two-story library, a rolling ladder for reaching the top shelves won't just be a practical necessity but also an intriguing accent.
